To provide the GP an opportunity to learn a modern concept of Orthodontics;
To give hands on training to incorporate limited banded orthodontic therapy in their practice, if they wish, but stress that additional training is necessary to do more than simple cases;
To teach what types of cases the GP can treat and what types of cases should be referred to the orthodontic specialist;
To better evaluate the results of treatment by the orthodontic specialist.
