Periodontics
Course objectives: Provide information and practice in the various aspects of periodontal disease that will enable the participant to be competent in the prevention, diagnosis, and all treatment modalities. The clinic year will cover the etiology of periodontal disease as related to the patient treated; classify periodontal disease and determine the treatment plan and prognosis in question; determine what pre-surgical treatment is needed for a particular case; Mucogingival surgery; Osseous surgery; identify occlusal problems and their treatment; and determine the relationship of endodontic, orthodontic, and restorative problems to periodontics, and the treatment necessary to obtain good health of the periodontium.
