Community Smiles, in conjunction with Lindsey Hopkins Technical Education Center, provides a fully accredited Dental Assistant program. The program is open to individuals in the Miami-Dade county area who are interested in becoming productive members of the community and acquiring a profession whose members are in demand. A high school diploma is not necessary if the person has a GED.

This career training opportunity provides both the classroom instruction and hands-on training that will assist the student in passing the certification exam. While the dentists are helping provide dentistry to the underserved, they also provide the required hands-on training for the dental assistants to achieve competency as an assistant. The program is well rounded and is accredited by both the American Dental Association's Commission of Dental Accreditation and the National Board Examination for Dental Assistants. This vocation will provide them with meaningful, well-paying jobs, typically well above minimum wage.
